Re: this mooring buoy OK?
I don't think it will fail any time soon. Maybe you could paint a giant Kraken on it to scare away the birds ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Painting anchor rode markings
Realistically, how often do you anchor with less than all of the chain out? Since our primary anchor is on all chain, 99% of the time! I do agree that markings at less than 100ft are probably unnecessary. I usually set the anchor at about 4:1 scope and then put out some more after it is set. Marks ...

Re: Painting anchor rode markings
I used rattle can Rust-Oleum red and yellow on the chain. I have no idea how paint reacts with Nylon. The spray paints typically have some rather strong thinners.

Re: Advanced Transom Transducer Units Mounted In-Hull In Sai
We have a Garmin GPSMAP 942xs with a Garmin GT15M-IH in hull transducer on our CD36. This transducer could accommodate the deadrise angle at a location that was convenient. I'm a lousy fisherman but having a running histogram of bottom depths (and some indication of bottom type) is interesting.

Re: Dish drying rack for CD 31 double sink.
I believe the "Camco 43511 White Mini Dish Drainer " is what we use on our CD36 $6.48 on Amazon. I'm not sure if the sink on the CD31 is the same.

These are available from McMaster-Carr in 18-8 Stainless: https://www.mcmaster.com/91783A722/
Personally I would deep-six those straight slot fasteners and choose hex head any day.

Re: Suggestions for winter gloves.
Mittens keep your hands warmer, mittens over gloves even more so.
We don't do any winter sailing but on the boat we have diving gloves for cool and wet days.

Re: Painting the Spar "attachments"
They may be anodized aluminum rather than painted. Is it flaking off or just worn away? If it's not flaking it is probably anodized. I believe it is possible to anodize at home, I have never tried it.

Re: Engine water pump Kubota cd28
Assuming it is a Beta 14 (rather than some other Kubota based engine like Universal or Nanni)... I believe they used 2 different pumps depending on when it was made. The later pumps Beta #207-08922 (picture below) are made by Beta but use an impeller made by "Johnson". The Johnson impeller...

Re: GPS Antennae placement?
Our Vesper AIS GPS antenna is on the pushpit also. I have seen them mounted on spreaders but this make no sense, the satellites are so far away a few feet higher will make no difference. The GPS antenna may work below deck, our current Garmin GPS antenna is mounted inside under the side deck and wor...

Re: Knurled Knobs for Beta Water Pump Cover
The original "Speed Seal" group is no longer in business. The Beta pump (at least the part #207-08922 on my B38) already has a groove for an o-ring. A "Speed Seal" would be redundant. I also used thumbscrews from McMaster Carr although a slightly different style: https://www.mcm...
