Dar!

If you have a cover over your companion way, you can make a simple frame that will slide into your companion way. Sandwich a piece of vinyl window screen between the two sided frame. I did this and it allows plenty of air to get inside. HTH!

Lucky You!

Glad you had no damage to the little one. Now, how uncomfortable were you during the storm? Any nail biting going on. Where you pacing the floor, and calling the Marina often asking how things look. A trailer would solve all that. How many postings have you read where people are looking for a traile...

You see now, if you had a trailer, the little one could be home with you. Maybe in your garage nice and dry. Maybe a trailer is on your list, don't know. As for your motor, I don't think I would have left it mounted on the boat.

Good luck Robert, I hope your boat escapes damage. Keep us posted!

They ain't cheap!

I think this young man would like not to spend a fortune on his first boat. Good luck in finding a cheap Herreshoff.
Go for the Typhoon young man!

It's the one to get!

You would have to know Ron. :) He's a person that's takes care of his Typhoon. It's been very well taken care of. It's always clean and shipshape before he goes sailing.

Dragon Point!

Sure hated seeing the big dragon get demolished. I have anchored up there many times on the way to the Bahamas. Where was the travel lift you used? You boats looks great. Enjoy your sail home.

I might add when someone goes overboard, an earlier appointed crew member should point to the person overboard and never, and I repeat, never take their eyes off the person in the water.

I would want to see my Typhoon at home on a trailer during a hurricane. When I owned a 30' Catalina we were threatened with a strong storm. Remember HUGO! I moved my 30' up into a very narrow creek in the marsh away from the marina and big water. Only one other boat was near by, maybe 200 yards. He ...

My Ladder!

As for my ladder, a transit sometime ago at a nearby marina needed some cash quickly and I bought the (like new) ladder. :D If I were mounting the brackets I have, they would be through bolted with the two side by side holes facing up. Reason being, you won't be banging the ladder hooks against the ...

No cutting necessary for me!

I was able to get my small air tool with a small cut off wheel in through the original hole. It was tight but, I stayed with it and did a little at a time. I made up a couple of small stainless backing plates to help distribute the forces on the iron plates. I also treated the iron plates for rust, ...

Yikes #2

I discovered the same problem on my Ty on both chain plates/pad eyes a while back. The steel plate on the Ty's apparently were about 1/4" thick. I cut away some of the fiberglass underneath so I could inspect. Note how the steel plate bled into the fiberglass. My plates are about 12" long ...
