On my Weekender the boom is below the gate when the sail is up and above the gate when the boat is on the mooring. As indicated the use of a sailstop is essential in either location.

I have a Typhoon Weekender which is kept on a mushroom mooring, mud bottom. While I own the mooring, chain, etc. it is serviced by a mooring company. It seems to me the boat has a "hobby horse" motion even in mild wind/seas while @ the mooring. I am thinking the mooring pennant is too shor...

Are you saying there is no water on the deck below, just in the keel area? When it rains hard, as it did last weekend in the Boston area, I end up with water on the deck below but not on the berths, etc. (although it may have been there & dried up).
