Wire Nuts

I work part time at a Marina and have seen all kinds of "owner's" work on their electrical system, including wire nuts. I buy the cable assy. for boat trailers for the mast to boat connections. I have yet to see any fail. Just take a look at all of the "dangling" trailer connector...

Balmar wiring

Installed a 621 series Balmar Alternator on my 82 CD 30C. Does anyone have a schematic of the wiring "hook-up"of the old wiring? I'm confused about some of the old wires that went to the old alternator. Balamr instructions tell me not to connect to certain terminals on the Balmar that coul...

Teak & Holly Sole Finishing

After sanding and cleaning your Teak & Holly Sole, apply a coat of Cetol. That will bring out a more even finish. Wait at least 30 days; then apply a good coat of varnish. This process will only improve the appearance and color. It is important to wait the 30 days BEFORE applying a coat of varni...

CD 30 Bilge water

Bought a 1982 CD 30 and motored from Galesville, Md. to Flag Harbor Marina in Southern MD. I noticed water from the stuffing box drains into the engine pan with no exit into the bilge. Did not see any path for this seawater to empty into bilge. I thought of drilling a "limber hole" at the ...
