Re: insurance premium reality check

$134 for my Typhoon Senior on the Chesapeake Bay with Boat US. Pretty much bare-bones policy that's acceptable for a slip rental w/o claims.. knock knock

Got mine yesterday. What a nice surprise! Will be wearing it working on the boat this winter. Thanks so much.

Re: CD 27 Looking for New Owner (Free)

Tim,

Those are both valid explanations as to the origin of Dorus Mor, but I'm not 100% sure. I believe the first owner was of Scottish descent, so it's the original name of the boat from '85 and I didn't dare change it.

Re: One Particular Harbor

Great video! Hmmm I wonder if those drones are launchable from a sailboat... This is my first year at Flag Harbor for my Typhoon Senior and can "second" all the great things said about the place. John takes great care of the boats like they're his own and the grounds are very well kept up....

Spartan Marine Winch Stands

Pair of used Spartan Marine bronze winch stands (Spartan part #W798) from a Typhoon Senior. I've since replaced mine with shiny new ones. Would be ideal for second set of winches for a spinnaker, etc. Send me a PM if interested.

Re: CD 22d for sale in CT for $3000

This is an absolute steal... somebody better buy this boat. I would if I didn't already have a Ty Senior, basically the same hull minus the inboard.

Re: bought a Ty Senior

Congrats! You've made a fine purchase decision. I've had Ty Senior "Dorus Mor" (also my first sailboat) since 2005 and am totally satisfied. It sounds like you're on the right track with the bilge pump and seacock repairs. Where will you sail her? I sail out of the lower Potomac river, MD....

Re: Typhoon Senior - How do they sail?

I've been a happy owner of Ty Senior hull #1 since '05, and can tell you it's an excellent sailing boat. She's surprisingly fast (5.5-6kts) with 100% jib and 15 kts beating upwind, albeit a little wet in choppy waves. I actually now prefer the working jib over my 155% genoa in all but a deep reach a...

typhoon senior motor

Dave, I own a Ty Senior and I've got a Nissan 6hp long shaft w/ 3 gal fuel tank in the motor well. There is plenty of space to rotate the motor when operating in tight quarters such as backing in/out of a slip. I sail in areas of 1-2 kts current and have no problems making way. You might even get aw...

Jack, My Ty Senior had pos/neg wires going from the battery directly to the electrical panel which was located on the bulkhead underneath the bridgedeck, inside the cabin. Not sure if this was OEM, but a negative buss bar was located inside the electrical panel box. I'd bet your buss bar is hidden s...
