Other ideas

Fuel tank inlet screen that is partially clogged. Did you dump extra biocide in the fuel tank? Bad batch of fuel, that had water and let the critters reproduce? Water in the fuel tank, and rocking causes some to be picked up. Lots of water in the fuel water separator. See previous. Tank vent. Try ta...

Two ideas

One idea is to often, take a little time, and repolish them by hand. Look how, and how often the brass would be polished, before the Captain would come around for inspection, on the older ships. Another idea, is look into powder coating. Cast bronze is porous, so if you went this route, the place wo...

Bad repair job(s)???

Looks like a chunk of something, slightly left of center. The soda blasting will remove anything loose. Along with the old paint, bad repairs can be removed, along with blisters, if the top of the blister is thin enough. Even sniffing may not be enough, as the blasting has cleaned out the crater. IN...

West System works for me

Read West's literature on the process. A helper is handy and if you are going through teh effort, put on enough coats.

Check mechanicals

After having work done (even done by yourself), go over everything (the next day?) and make sure everything is attached, tighten, (re)installed, etc. Be surprised how often things are forgotten. Might be a good habit, to give everything a quick visual inspection, when going to the boat. Looking for ...

Dont be overwhelmed, take your time.

Prioritize your list and questions, do a search of the Board, and if you still have questions, ask away. Be warned, however, if you have 863 questions, the number of answers you get, will range from 863, to 863 raised to the power of a very large number. For the age of you boat, look at the ages of ...

WELCOME!

Guess I beat everyone in welcoming you aboard.

Questions for you. Was the PO ever registered on teh Board. If so, then, then it is possible that the Board knows all about your "new" boat.
Got any projects or adventures planned her? A name?

Also check with the voltmeter,

from teh alternator case to the engine block and to the battery - post. From teh alternator output to the battery + post. If any of these show a voltage, you have a bad connection or wire somewhere along that path.

Question Warren,

Is your holding tank in the port V berth area? If so, would have thought leaking from the holding tank would go under the sole and into the bilge. Was the puddle near teh head? Would think possible sloshing from the head (completely open top) would have been more likely. Also, remember, that any hos...

This website is but one persons opinion.

Who is this person, and is there any collaboration on the opinion quoted.
What are the conditions that the sample will be subjected to?

Personally, for non engine items on boats, I prefer Tef-Gel for for most items, but like the lanolin on the turnbuckles. My preference.

Wire slap prevention idea

Another idea, for those that have a track on teh interior of the mast, as part of the extrusion, is try to find mast slides to fit the track. If you can, as you feed the wire bendle up the mast, ziptie on a slide every so often, start the slide into the track. Yes, you cannot add a cable to the bund...

Might make it easier for people to determine the boat. Ask or search the board if you dont know how to post pictures.

Marv, do you need to ship it back?

If you Fedex the PFD there, are you going to need to ship it back? Where is Fedex located and is it accessible to you, at the far end? Or just leave the CO2 cartidges there.

FEDEX

Joe and Sea Hunt, how did Fedex ship your PFD's? Bet they were shipped Fedex GROUND. Got a new one last year for the holiday's and thats how mine came. Did not need it overnite, so went w/ the cheaper shipping method. Might get hit w/ a number of extra charges if they were shipped by air and are con...
