I went through this issue a few years ago. On my boat the backing plate was connected to some re-bar that was glassed in to the bow of the boat. The backing plate can be removed fairly easily from the the bottom of the deck, but the re-bar requires removal of a fair amount of fiberglass. I removed t...

Based upon a recommendation from my marina, I ended up using JSI. I have been very pleased with their work and customer service. Contact Danny Jones at 727-577-3220 or via email at danny@newjsi.com.

I think you will be very happy with their product.

Canvas Shop in St. Petersburg, FL Area

I'm in need of a new dodger and sail cover for my CD 28. Any St. Pete locals have experience with some canvas shops in the area that would be recommended?

Thanks.

Very similar rubber seals can be purchased at any hardware store for $0.50 or less per seal. I recently cleaned my exhaust manifold and located the seals at True Value. No problems so far and they may actually seal better than the previous.

Cleaning the manifold is not difficult just time consuming. Do a search on this board and you will find some posts on the process. As with anything, practise makes perfect.

What I found was that dragging the keel through the mud with the 13 hp Volvo and slightly fouled prop w...

I've been to the top of my mast a number of times for various reasons. Really isn't bad and provides a great view of the surroundings.

I use a climbing harness, two ascenders and foot straps. This arrangement allows me to climb the mast solo and is very secure.
