Re: CD27 Tiller Position
When I have extra people in KAYLA's cockpit, I lift the tiller and place a synthetic wine cork under top piece so the tiller height now clears most knees in the cockpit. We have frequently sailed very comfortably with five or six guests. Having someone that knows how to handle a sheet on each side h...

Re: Here we go again
The worst of Ida has finally left Niceville. We just need the wind to lay down so the water level goes back to normal. Then the clean-up begins!
Fortunately, our docks & boats came thru safe and secure.

Re: Emergency tiller CD 36
I spoke with someone at Edson when I was converting our 30 to tiller that said I would have to have a tiller 8 feet long to steer it. Apparently, that person has never sailed on a well designed boat??? I can only imagine how long of a tiller they would have suggested for the Far Reach! :D He also s...

Re: Here we go again
Roberto: Thanks! I'm actually trusting the incredibly tight models to just give use high water and a bunch of wind & rain. KAYLA has very strong, new pilings and tide-minders on her lines. I truly suspect our worst problem will be cleaning up all of the debris that comes over the seawall... Capt...

Re: Here we go again
I'm waiting till midday tomorrow to decide on moving KAYLA .. she's got TideRiders on her dock lines and can easily handle a 6+ foot rise in water. If current course predictions continue, I'm hoping to leave her at the dock. Captain Hook, I do not know where in the NOLA area you have Kumbaya , but a...
