Re: WANT A TRAWLER OR M/S

Wow! That seems like an outrageous price, but thanks for the info.

Re: Sail Treatment

Several years ago I took Parfait's main to Sailcare. They dropped lunch and hustled out to help bring it in, laid it out on their loft floor and did an assessment while I was standing there. I went in thinking I just wanted it clean. They shipped back what was a much better sail in terms of function...

WANT A TRAWLER OR M/S

This is a good day for ghoulish postings, so with some trepidation, I first want to say that I hope all CD fans are safe and that their boats are as well. However, if a CD trawler or motor sailor appears on the market as a result of storm damage, please forward me the info. My interest would be in r...

Re: Rotary Aire Heat Pump Help

Thanks for that tip. I wonder if there is any chance that the raw water pump is interlocked with the compressor, but if I recall correctly, the compressor ran regardless, just not cool, the last time it was locked up. Further, the pump cannot draw that much current. The pump has no chance to work as...

Rotary Aire Heat Pump Help

OK guys. I need some clues. I am at the boat and the Air Conditioning is kaput. The fan works, but as soon as I try to engage the compressor by turning on the AC, the shore power main power breaker pops. It doesn't seem as if the compressor is turning at all. It is, of course, a sealed unit. Is ther...

Creative Accumulation

Andy, You have delighted me this morning. That is not unusual when you write, but this morning it was particularly poignant as I have acquired another CD-14 project boat and am anticipating refurbishing two over the Winter. Only a few of my scraps will be helpful. Amongst my treasures is a single pe...

Thanks!

While no originals have popped up, the problem seems easily solved thanks to this board. I might have surfed before I panicked.

WTB oarlock socket

My "new" CD-13 #200 is missing one bronze oarlock socket. Is there a source? One lying around?

Yes, I am now a 3 CD owner.

??

Can't seem to open the pics. Malie has a Force 10 cabin heater mounted at the corner behind the mast at 45° to the centerline. and bulkhead and below the table cupboard. It seems to work. It is what I plan to do for Parfait.

I think I have pictures if you are interested.

Teak Removal

It is certainly true that I was able to lift the damaged section without damage to the hull. The adhesive certainly wasn't 5200.

More than scraping

More than scraping is required as this rail is weathered. The Fein detail sander or functional equivalent might be required. I can imagine a stationary guide attached to the the detail sander to keep it off the hull by a tad. That does sound like a job to do from either scaffolding or a floating pla...

Rub rail resurfacing

In addition to replacing a short section of Parfait's rub rail, I am considering resurfacing and refinishing the entire rail and toe stop. I suspect the resurfacing requires removal of the rails, but out of curiosity and laziness, does anyone have a trick for avoiding damaging the gel coat above and...

Second Post

Mike,

It is the second post of the thread which is over two years old. I think it is simply a matter of not remembering.
