shaft question

On my cd 28-the installation of a drive protector-the hard plastic round thingy-made it impossible to change the stuffing box packing without pulling the engine-however-I went years and years without replacing the packing until an incident occurred where the vent hose got wrapped around the prop sha...

when to awlgrip

As long as you have gelcoat on the hull-it can be wet sanded and compounded and waxed back to life-my cd 28 is a 1974! and I still bring it back to a shine every year-ok the port side was re-gelcaoted after hurricane Bob in 1990-but there is very little difference in the end result on either side-th...

furuno 1623 radar

chain plates

this tropic has been discussed at length on the board-take it from me-I have cd 28 hull # 13 from 1974-these boats do not have "chain plates" in the conventional sense which are strips of stainless steel that run vertically up through the deck and are bolted inside the boat to a bulkhead. ...

CD 28

I also own a CD 28 and have looked towards buying a larger boat and like you an considering an Aillied-in my case the 33-which is very comparable in specs to a cd 33-the allied has a shorter waterline-narrower beam and weighs more-anyway-the 1st Aliied 33 I looked at was "hammered"-it had ...
