Re: Raymarine ST2000+ error message "2000"?
Joe, this should work. If not, I'm going to give up. http://www.olajedatos.com/documentos/st1%20&%202000%20service%20manual.pdf Hopefully, this will guide you to the ServiceManual. I think your question will be answered in Segment 4.3, and it gives you the instrux to format your Autohelm. Thanks...

Re: Raymarine ST2000+ error message "2000"?
OOPs-- my 11Jul post read like a bad Nigerian Bank Checking Account Scandal (your Big check is in the mail, send me the Little check) :? I found the SERVICE manual for the Autohelms by googling RAYMARINE AUTOHELM 2000+ AND ERROR CODE 2000 and then following it up by highlighting from the listed matc...

Re: Raymarine ST2000+ error message "2000"?
try the following in Google----- it came up as the first web result in my aol.....
http://www.olajedatos.com/.../st1%20&%2 ... manual.pdf
See Section 4.3---- it appears that you might need to 'reacquaint' the unit's software w/its hardware.
Hope this helps.

Re: Best way to remove rotten mild-steel screws
If I remember correctly, access to the starboard stern is available by removing the engine panel from the cockpit. It will still take a long, flexible arm (really skinny ARMS if using both) to attack the hose and clamp. Drilling out the old rotten screws may be the easiest fix, with a little JBWeld ...

Re: Head Replacement
Just wait...... now it's time to see if the new head's base fits the old screw holes....... As a friend of mine told me years ago, when working on a boat, "Estimate the time you think it will take to do the job, Double it, and ADD 10%". It's been pretty accurate for me. As an aside....... ...

Re: Tackling the Cutlass Bearing
After uncoupling the driveshaft flange, the propshaft and attached flange were seemingly one-piece. No room to swing a hammer. Used Don Casey's "Socket/Bolt" extension method. Time consuming, but w/lubricant and progressively longer bolts/sockets inserted between the face of the 2 flanges,...

Susan TUTTLE and e-mails
Has anybody heard from a SUSAN TUTTLE regarding unsolicited purchases of a boat recently? Appears to have been on the board since 2001 thru 2005 according to the search engine. No activity found since then. The boat is always up for purchase, but not sure if this 60-70ish woman really exists. Thanx....

An empty plastic 1-gallon anti-freeze/water jug w/screw on cap next to you in the cockpit.

Re: Anchor Locker on Cape Dory 25D; Water drainage
SeaHunt- the anchor well should not be a problem w/bilge water. The only intrusion points I can think of are 1: the Reefer/Icebox if you use ice/cold water (i.e. condensation)for refrigeration, and 2: the drainage from the forward head faucet. which also drains into the bilge. The only other point of...

Re: Farewell Bob Vander Wiede
Alfred Lord Tennyson English author often regarded as the chief representative of the Victorian age in poetry. Tennyson succeeded Wordsworth as Poet Laureate in 1850; he was appointed by Queen Victoria and served 42 years. Tennyson's works were melancholic, and reflected the moral and intellectual v...

Re: The mystery of water in the engine pan
SeaHunt...... the water's point of entry seems to be the aft/back portion of the rudder tube where it enters the teak block on the cockpit floor. The top of the rudder tube (open, in my case) should drain into the ocean.........all waters found in the pan have been fresh, therefore I do not plan to ...

Re: The mystery of water in the engine pan
Three inches of rain yesterday..................happened to be at the boat, because I knew the engine pan would need sponging.................... judging by the dust I have failed to clean up over the last year, I am narrowing down the freshwater intrusion to the area of the underside/aft portion of...

Re: The mystery of water in the engine pan
 I have always been a little reticent to post this same question. Thanks, SeaHunt, for broaching the subject. Have tried resealing the rings around the 2 aft vents, even went so far as to replace one of the rings and fittings. Water still ingressed--- always fresh/not Chesapeake Brown/---- aft...

Re: Replacing Remote Shut Off Cable on Cape Dory 25D; 1GM Ya
Found myself replacing same cable as you a few years ago. It all started when the cable-pull was stiff, and I forced the cable to the stop position - breaking the faceplate of the control panel at the same time. Ordered the cable from Torrensen's, and delivery was quick. Also ordered a new control p...
