Disclaimers:

1. Insure that your boat, mechanical systems, radio and electronics, emergency gear, and comfort items (refrig., head, fresh water, fuel, etc) are all in proper working order.

2. The fleet will be monitoring CH 16 and CH 72 for hailing and general conversation, respectively.

3. Make sure your TowBoatUS or other marine insurance is current. Additionally, if you can purchase unlimited towing for a small additional fee, do so. No one expects or plans to break down or have problems. If it happens in the middle of the Sound, however, it's a twenty mile tow in any direction, maybe more if you're going to a repair facility or home port. This one expense could be much more than you might imagine.

4. Have fowl weather gear on board, the Sound is home to many MESSY waterfowl (grin). Additionally have foulweather gear aboard and be prepared to use it, along with any storm tactics you might be familiar with. Thunderstorms can appear quickly, but are usually short lived.

5. Travel in small groups, with others who match your boat's speed and sailing characteristics. This makes the trip pass quickly and is much more enjoyable than sailing alone or trying to be 'the first one there'.
